Dumbledore's twinkling eyes flashed in the direction of the Weasley twins.
"He's coming now."
"Must get on -- lots ter buy. Come on, Harry."
"Wow," said Ron. He sat and stared at Harry for a few moments, then, as though he had suddenly realized what he was doing, he looked quickly out of the window again.
"You'd like one?"
"I want to read that letter," he said loudly. want to read it," said Harry furiously, "as it's mine."
"Ahern -- just a few more words now that we are all fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you.
"They stuff people's heads down the toilet the first day at Stonewall," he told Harry. "Want to come upstairs and practice?"
"Very well," he said, handing it back to Hagrid, "I will have Someone take you down to both vaults. Griphook!"
"Am I?" said Harry, feeling dazed.
They heard the click of the mail slot and flop of letters on the doormat.
They had reached the station. There was a train to London in five minutes' time. Hagrid, who didn't understand "Muggle money," as he called it, gave the bills to Harry so he could buy their tickets.
"Don't make me feel worse," said Harry. He told Hagrid about the pate boy in Madam Malkin's.
"Can't you --?"
"What!" Ron looked dumbfounded. "Oh, you wait, it's the best game in the world --" And he was off, explaining all about the four balls and the positions of the seven players, describing famous games he'd been to with his brothers and the broomstick he'd like to get if he had the money. He was just taking Harry through the finer points of the game when the compartment door slid open yet again, but it wasn't Neville the toadless boy, or Hermione Granger this time.
